We use genuine Furutech Connectors purchaced from an authorized distributor here in the United States because we feel that they offer a well balanced combination of high performance, high quality and high value products. The FI-11CU/AG combo IMO is the best bargian in audio as far as AC Connectors go. This is closely followed by the FI-28 pairing, while costing less then half of the flagship FI-50's the FI-28's offer 80 to 85% of the FI-50's incredible performance - again a high value. For those of you who are "Dyed in the wool" Oyaide fans we will be happy to terminate your cables with your choice of Oyaide connectors with the understanding that will add lead time to the delivery of your cable as we don't keep these in stock. As far as the "hospital grade" connectors from Hubbell, Marinco, P&S and Wattgate they are not compatable with all of our cables and while being of high quality are usually "Modified" for audiophile use while our Furutechs are designed specifically for that purpose. All Furutech connectors are cryogenically treated as part of the production process. Your connectors are your interface from your receptacle to your power cable and from your power cable to your component. Without high performance high quality connectors the cable in between can become largely irrelevant.Why Cryogenics?Every cable we use is treated at CryoFreeze by Lee using his proprietary Deep Cryogenic Treatment. I will attempt to put the benefits of this process into laymans terms. Take my favorite car: the 2010 Porsche Turbo S (no I don't have one I drive a 1995 Volvo wagon). It has an advertised top speed of 196MPH. Driven on a road filled with potholes and rutts this speed will never be achieved. Driven on a straight, nicely paved, smooth road you will see 190 plus in under a minute. That is what cryogenics achieves(it aligns the molecular structure in the wire and connectors (the road) so the electrons flow easier and faster(the Porsche). This molecular rearraingment lowers resistance and resistance induced harmonic distortion. As Furutech connectors are cryogenically treated as part of the production process, everything in the current path of each of our cables is cryoed. We have proven this significantly raises the performance level over an untreated cable. The cables that we have chosen for our offerings have been carefully selected. We have made custom cables for people using all different quality and gauges of cable from a lot of different manufactures. I have worked with most of the popular Japanese offerings and while being of high quality there were some issues in certain areas of their performance and coupled with their price I could not attach the high value tag to them. We feel the 3 cables that we offer, Carol 10/3 in The Sapphire, CryoMax III in The Onyx and The Onyx Shotgun 9 as well as Lee's custom TWcu in The Alexandrite exceed the quality and performance of any cable near their given price range.
